Summer DANCE opportunities - 2025!

Down East Dance is pleased to announce our 2025 Ballet Summer Intensive & Class/Workshop Schedule!  Please note enrollment requirements, new students - please contact the studio for class guidance. 

Ballet Intensives with

Sokvannara Sar

Beginner/Intermediate

Ages 10+ 

(or current Ballet 4 & 5 students)

Ballet Intensive with Sokvannara Sar of the Carolina Ballet.  Students will work on classical as well as contemporary ballet technique & choreography.  Must have at least two full years of ballet training.  Leotard, tights, ballet shoes, optional skirt.  Hair pulled back in bun.  

June 16-19

10am-12noon, $150  

Intermediate/Advanced

Ages 13+

(or current Ballet 6, 7, 8 students)

This class will focus on ballet technique, stretching & pre-pointe strengthening.  July 14-17

4:30-5:30pm, $72

Intermediate Ballet - Older

Ages 12+

*or current Ballet 5 & 6 students

This class will focus on ballet technique, stretching, higher extensions, pre-pointe strengthening for those not yet on pointe, beginner pointe work for those that are already on pointe.

5:30-7:00pm, $110

Beginner Pointe for New Pointe Students

(*must have instructor approval)

Ages 11+

This class will focus on building a beginning pointe foundation.  Ms. Katie will evaluate new pointe students' pointe shoes before they sew them.  *Please do not wear them until they have been properly checked.  Students will need to bring their new pointe shoes, ribbons, elastic, scissors, pink sturdy thread, sewing needles & a thimble.  They will learn to sew their shoes like the professional dancers do.  

*This class can only be taken in addition to the Intermediate Ballet - Older class.
